The Joy of Living Program
The Joy of Living program from Hope Grows provides a continuum of support and resources through a 6-week series of education, sharing, and reflecting. Family caregivers will learn tools to help with coping, self-care and awareness, and recognizing areas of personal well-being.
Each week will focus on one of six key elements of finding and/or maintaining the joy and happiness that can happen whether you are currently caregiving or not.
Preserving joy, finding strength, and maintaining balance while caregiving is difficult to sustain when surrounded by stress, struggles, pain or suffering. This series will encourage and empower you by making the most positive, mindful, and holistic techniques.
Essential oils, inspirational stones, flowers and symbolism, and the art of writing and coloring will become the cornerstone of shaping the caregiver’s journey.

One of the event's highlights is the 14th Annual Cookie Sale, organized by Coraopolis United Methodist Church and held inside VFW Post 402, 412 Mulberry Street, Coraopolis, PA 15108. Each year, this beloved tradition draws crowds eager to purchase delicious homemade cookies - perfect for holiday gatherings and gift-giving. Preorders will be accepted from November 1 through November 22, 2026.

Summer Jam(boree)
The CCDC is partnering with Summer Jam to bring Coraopolis something bigger, bolder, and brand‑new—a two‑day celebration packed with pure fun.
We kick things off Friday with a kids’ sports camp, followed by a youth basketball tournament, and cap the night with a Movie in the Park. Then on Saturday, the park comes alive with a full day of action: another round of basketball, local vendors, and three live bands rocking the park from afternoon into the evening.

Coraopolis Easter Egg Hunt
Join us for the Coraopolis Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 29 from 1:30–3:00 PM at Riverfront Park!
Bring the family for an afternoon of springtime fun as kids search for colorful eggs along the riverfront. Egg hunts will begin at 1:45 PM and run every 15 minutes, starting with the youngest age group and moving up to the oldest.

Coraopolis Art Project: Woven
The Community Art Project invites you to our winter session, Woven. Come and join us as we explore the art of weaving or bring your own projects and create alongside others! Each week will begin with an instructive demonstration teaching the basics of weaving on a small fixed loom. We will primarily work with fiber arts but will include other woven media in the last two classes. Tools and supplies are provided. There is no cost, but registration in encouraged.

Christmas in Coraopolis Returns December 6
The holiday season will shine a little brighter in Coraopolis this year as the community gathers for the annual Christmas in Coraopolis celebration on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hosted in partnership with the Coraopolis Community Development Corporation (CCDC), VFW Post 402, and the Coraopolis United Methodist Church (UMC), the event promises festive fun for the whole family.
One of the highlights is the 13th Annual Cookie Sale, organized by Coraopolis UMC, which will take place inside VFW Post 402, located at 412 Mulberry St., Coraopolis, PA. Each year, this tradition draws crowds eager to purchase delicious homemade cookies—perfect for holiday gatherings or gifting. Pre-orders will be accepted November 2nd through November 22nd.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Families can look forward to:

Coraopolis United Methodist Church Hosts 13th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner
On Thursday, November 27, 2025, Coraopolis United Methodist Church will open its doors once again to host its 13th Annual Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner, a beloved tradition that brings warmth, food, and fellowship to the West Hills community. The free dine-in meal will be served from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the church’s dining hall, located at 1205 Ridge Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
Everyone is welcome—no reservations are required.
The menu features a classic Thanksgiving spread: roast turkey, homemade mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberries, and dessert. The meal is entirely free of charge, reflecting the church’s mission to nourish the community not only physically but also spiritually and emotionally.
This year, the event continues to honor the legacy of its co-founders, Jeanne and Randy Cosgrove. The couple launched the dinner 13 years ago with a vision to ensure that no one would spend Thanksgiving alone or without a hot meal. In its inaugural year, the event served 200 meals. In 2022, that number grew to 580 homemade meals, a testament to the impact and continued growth of this community-centered initiative.
Randy Cosgrove, affectionately remembered as “The Voice” of the Steelers for his 15-year tenure as announcer, passed away in 2018. His spirit of generosity and community service lives on through this event, which continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of volunteers and supporters.
In addition to serving dine-in guests, volunteers will deliver meals to local first responders on Thanksgiving Day—an annual gesture of appreciation for those who serve and protect the community.
The meal is open to everyone in the West Hills area, regardless of background or circumstances.
“We come together not just to share food, but to share hope and kindness,” said event organizer, Jeanne Cosgrove. “This event is a reflection of who we are as a community.”
